The ORA intraoperative aberrometry system provides real-time measurements and analysis of your eye during cataract surgery. This technology verifies that the proper IOL is selected for your eye. Dr. Schneider recommends ORA if you have had previous Refractive Surgery such as RK, LASIK, or PRK because your natural corneal curvature has been altered and the standard formulas to calculate the proper IOL may be inaccurate. The ORA is also essential for verification of the proper axis alignment of Astigmatism correcting/Toric IOLs.
